On the Road Again . . .

Sue & I are preparing to do what we do best - travel! This time, we're getting ready for our first Chicago trip to visit our pals, Tiptoe & Tonto! This whole trip was hatched during Back to Our Roots back about a year and a half ago so you can just imagine the amount of emails that have gone back and forth between IL and CT!

Friends Dave & Nancy (Cardinal) surprised us by coming to that gathering, hit it off with T & T, and the next thing we knew the 4 of us had invites to visit them in the Land of Lincoln in September/October of 2010. Speaking of Lincoln, we're heading to Springfield after 5 days in Chitown for 3 days there to visit the Lincoln-related historic sites. But we'll be detouring along the Yellow Brick Road in the land of Oz on our way from Chicago to Springfield thanks to a great series we are dying to get done by Hartx6, pitties and Shorty. The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite movies so we had to go out of our way an hour or so to hunt this series. While we'll never get the whole series, we'll do our best.

We're bringing along 8 boxes to plant, primarily in the Springfield area called Lincoln Trail. This will be a series of boxes that tie together the main Lincoln-related historic sights including the Presidential Museum/Library, Lincoln Depot, the law offices, the town of Lincoln, etc. Most of this series has been artfully carved by RTRW of CT. She transformed my ideas into fantastic little pieces of art; as she always does! Tsuki Ames, also of CT, is sending along a box or two for us to plant. Watch for clues when we get home.

T & T have been invaluable in planning: arranged a little mini meet for us, helped us purchase tickets to see the Boston Red Sox defeat the White Sox on Monday and tons of other touristy type things - and a bit of boxing as well. Anyone attending our mini meet may want to check out our travelers - for once, I'll have them with us! Should be a great time and we'll tell you all about it when we get back. Have a good week and behave yourselves!   :-)
