Cruise Details Announced!

Have you ever dreamed of visiting Alaska? A trip to Alaska is on most people's "bucket list" - I know it's been on our list for quite a while. Well, Sue & I have worked long and hard and we're finally able to announce the details of the 2011 Letterboxing Cruise to Alaska!!!

Pinecone Adventures is pleased to offer a two part trip - an optional Land portion for 4 nights in Fairbanks, Denali National Park and Anchorage AND the main cruise - 7 nights on the Celebrity Millennium for a southbound journey from Seward, Alaska to our final destination, Vancouver, Canada.

Dates: Land portion - July 4th through July 8, 2011; Cruise only - July 8th through July 15, 2011.


Optional Land Tour (4 nights - July 4 to July 7, 2011)

Note: All accommodations are being arranged by Celebrity Cruises. We will have a tour guide with us at all times while  on the land portion of the cruise.

There will be free time each day in all locations to provide us letterboxing time!!!

Fairbanks, Alaska - 1 night @ Pike's Waterfront Lodge

Denali National Park - 2 nights @ McKinley Village Lodge

Anchorage, Alaska - 1 night @ Anchorage Marriott

Seward, Alaska - where we'll be taken right to the ship to begin our sea adventure!

Included: The services of a tour guide who will travel with the group all the time we are on land! All hotels (arranged by Celebrity) and all transfers from Fairbanks hotel to Denali and Anchorage and finally to the ship to commence the cruise via deluxe motorcoach and the Wilderness Express glass-domed train cars where Alaska comes into 360 degree view! Also included is the Riverboat Discovery Steamwheeler, a visit to the Athabascan Indian Village, the Tundra Wilderness Tour in Denali, and the Alaska SeaLife Center.

Not Included: All meals during the Land Tour and your transfers from the Fairbanks airport to the Fairbanks hotel. If you book Celebrity's airfare option then transfers are included in their prices.


Cruise (7 nights - July 8 - July 15, 2011)

Depart Seward, Alaska at 9pm aboard your home for the next 7 nights, the Celebrity Millennium, heading southbound towards our final destination at Vancouver, Canada.

Seward, Alaska (embarkation)

Hubbard Glacier (while cruising) 2 to 6pm

Juneau, Alaska (8am to 9pm)

Skagway, Alaska (7am to 8:30pm)

Icy Strait Point, Alaska (7am to 3pm)

Ketchikan, Alaska (9am to 6pm)

Inside Passage (while cruising)

Vancouver, BC, Canada (debarkation) 7am

Included: All food onboard (except at specialty restaurants which require a monetary upgrade), coffee, tea and water, all entertainment, free room service from a limited menu and more.

Not included: gratuities, liquor or soda. There are several wine, liquor and soda plans that are more cost effective than just purchasing as you go along. Details available from the travel agent when you call to book.) Guests are not allowed to bring liquor onboard in your luggage - it will be confiscated.

Deposits: $250 per person is due by November 15, 2010.

Final payment is due by April 29, 2011

If you are sure you will attend, please sign up on our Atlas Quest Event Page. Call Danielle as soon as possible to get your choice of cabin. We expect a large turnout on this cruise due to the pricing and itinerary.

We are presently working on amenity points that are given groups. One of the perks will most likely be a one hour Welcome Aboard Cocktail Party for our group alone our first night on the ship. Other items are in the works.
